Just a short post about whats going on...

So this is not about sewing, This post I mean.  Since it is my blog I can post about other things though so it is okay :)
   The house is ours! Do you know what means? It means that now we have a lot of work to accomplish in making this house a place we love to be. Today we planting many of my flowers, tomorrow and next weekend we are planting the big stuff, which include... grapes, oranges, apples, cherries, plums, almonds, peaches, berries and more. I am so excited. these plants have been in pots FOR_EV_ER. We have painting to do and things to fix. We even have some changes to make to our barn, to make it a nice place for our many chickens. Oh the yummy eggs!
  So that's my post for today, just one of excitement. my next will be some other sewing project I felt like working on...maybe men's jeans (yep I' am on to my 4th pair for my hubby, who loves them!) or maybe... Baby dresses. Who knows!

There is so much freedom in how far we can take  an experiment or how long we can work on it. The other day my husband started to explain to our kids why oil doesn't mix with water. So today we experimented with water density. Boys belt

Boys belt...with a buckle.     Its really simple to make this belt. The part that makes it great for younger boys, like my three year old, is that it is easy for them to take on or off. I had made my boys D ring belts but they had a hard time getting them off when it was time to potty. Getting them on was a hassle for them too. So this time I thought about easy solutions. So first measure the length you want and opening size of your buckle. Then cut long strips of the fabric you want to use. My buckle opening was 1 inch. So I cut my fabric about 1 and a half inches wide and about 26 inches long. then I Serge the long sides. After that I used a safety pin to turn it right side out. Then I folded in the ends and stitched all the way around. Then you sew one end onto your buckle and lace the other end through the other buckle piece. Easy Peasy! I got the buckle pieces from Joann. sigh

Wow, So I intended to post all sorts of stuff here and somehow combine these posts with my other two very small blogs, but...I got pregnant! Yep we are having our 5th baby in January. I have been asking my husband for a new camera since mine wasn't what I wanted. I am still waiting on that, with all our expenses lately, it may be a long time away yet. I really hope I can start working on this soon the way i had planned to. who knows maybe on the weekends when we arn't in school (homeschooling all 4, even the babies) or after they are in bed. Other great moms find the time to share their creations through their amazing blogs! I know I can too, just got to figure out how. lol sigh, time to get ready for the busy busy day ahead.
